Behind The Craft

The steps behind every Izuki wallet. 

Step 1

Cutting

An artisan will cut out the required pieces of leather from the roll of top-grain leather.

Step 2

Embossing

Pieces are embossed with our patented designs. The leather is set aside to cool down due to the heat of the embossing tool 

Step 3

Skiving

Each piece of leather is put through the skiving machine to shave down any uneven parts. This is to ensure all pieces of leather are the same thickness.

Step 4

Attaching Lining

Lining is attached to the pieces of leather. A mix of canvas and RFID-blocking lining is used.

Step 5

Folding Edges

Edges are folded over the lining. This gives it a clean finish when you look inside the card holder. Even small details like this are handled with immense care.

Step 6

Hole-Punching

To prepare the wallet for stitching, the artisans punch sewing holes into them.

Step 7

Stitching

The different parts of the leather are sewn together, the most integral part of the card holder process.

Step 8

Edge Finishing

For a clean finish, the edges of the card holders are painted & polished.
